The current composition of the Scientific Council of the Forest Research Institute – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was elected by the General Assembly of Scientists in 2025 (Minutes No. 2/23.02.2025), and the management of the Council was elected at a meeting of the Scientific Council (Minutes No. 3/17.03.2025).
The Scientific Council consists of 15 members, including: 6 scientists holding the academic rank of Professor and 8 holding the academic rank of Associate Professor. Among the members, 3 hold the scientific degree “Doctor of Sciences”, while the remaining 12 hold the educational and scientific degree “Doctor (PhD)”. One representative of the early‑career researchers has been elected, with an advisory vote.
As of 31.12.2025, all members of the Scientific Council of the Forest Research Institute are employed full‑time at FRI‑BAS. The Chair of the Scientific Council is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Velichkov, the Deputy Chair is Prof. Dr. Tatyana Stankova, and the Secretary is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Delkov.
